Olympic Lift Techniques: Learning the Fast Lifts

The benefits of Olympic-style weightlifting are being discovered more and more by coaches, athletes, and general population. Whether you are looking to improve your sports performance or changing body composition, snatches and clean and jerks are great exercises for more than just competitive weightlifters. This session will address proper form and technique to these powerful and fast lifts.

Jump Rope Techniques: The Fundamentals of Jump Rope

Saturday, Sept. 29, 1-2 p.m.
This session will provide guidance on the basics of jump roping as a versatile cardiovascular activity. All levels of jump rope experience are welcome to learn about the fundamental techniques of jumping rope for fun, fitness, or incorporation into existing workouts.

Ladies who Lift (Or Don't and Want to Learn)

Ladies Who Lift is an all-female strength training session aimed to educate, empower, and inspire women of all shapes, sizes and exercise backgrounds. Ladies Who Lift provides the opportunity for women to engage and learn basic lifting techniques from a female BearFit trainer. This program is designed to teach how to safely execute loaded human movements. Learning these foundational movements will allow those who attend to confidently and safely explore and experiment with a vast majority of strength training exercises including the squat, deadlift, press and several others.

Deadlift 101: Picking Up Heavy Things Properly

Saturday, Nov. 17, 1-2 p.m.
This session will provide guidance and universal principles on how to set-up and execute a proper deadlift ? the most functional strength exercise. This instruction will act as a guide to protect your back when you pick things up from the floor whether it?s in the gym or around the house. This session will also include different pulling variations that supplement deadlift strength.
