The Washington University Office of Recreation received several national awards on Sunday, March 4, during the opening session of the 2018 NIRSA Conference in Denver.
The Gary M. Sumers Recreation Center was recognized as a NIRSA Outstanding Sports Facility, an award recognizing excellence in newly constructed recreational sports facilities.
WashU Rec also received NIRSA Creative Excellence Awards in four categories highlighted by a first place award for best website. WashU Rec's Wigdor Cycling Studio, AKA The Dark Room, received second-place in the large-scale signage category, WashU Rec's "Let's Go" marketing campaign earned second-place in the integrated marketing campaign category and WashU Rec's "Find Your Balance" video received third-place in the audiovisual promotion category.
NIRSA is an international organization made up of collegiate recreation professionals from the United States and Canada.
