The WashU tennis club competed in the Creve Coeur Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 20-21 at the Creve Coeur Racquet Club. The Bears won the tournament for the fourth-consecutive year, defeating Missouri State (36-10), Nebraska (36-19) and Saint Louis University (25-22) to take the title.
The WashU running club had 18 members compete in the Frostbite Series 4-Mile/Half Marathon on Saturday, Jan. 27 in Forest Park. Bram Osterhout finished second out of 336 runners in the men's half marathon with a time of 1:12.22 while Kelsey Lamph was WashU's top finisher in the women's race, finishing 15th out of 247 runners with a time of 1:38.35. Lexi Slome finished ninth out of 195 runners in the women's 4-mile race with a time of 28.33 while Andrew O'Sullivan finished 25th out of 192 runners in the men's 4-mile with a time of 25.41.
The WashU women's ultimate club (WUWU) competed in the Santa Barbara Invite Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 27-28 in Santa Barbara, Calif. Coming into the tournament seeded 13th, WUWU won three out of six matches to finish in ninth place. WUWU picked up victories over teams from the University of Southern California, University of Chicago and University of Arizona.
